Later today Prime Minister Shinzo Abe is expected to declare a state of emergency across seven prefectures in Japan including Tokyo, which is the current center of the COVID-19 outbreak in Japan and where Franchir’s office is located.
Although it remains to be seen exactly how we will all be affected by the implementation of this emergency measure, it should not entail a strict lock-down in the sense that people will be ordered to stay at home.
At Franchir we are lucky to work in a field where a large part of our business can be carried out remotely, and in order to keep on working effectively in these uncertain times we have already been trying out various measures including telecommuting from home and flexible working hours for those who need to come in to the office.
To do our part in slowing the spread of the COVID-19 outbreak in Tokyo while also meeting the needs of our clients, we will continue with the measures we have implemented to date, while keeping a close eye on further developments and considering new measures as the situation requires.
